The Frazier Motorsports store in Mishawaka, Indiana opened for business almost 10 years ago. But motorcycling and competitive motorsports have been Tim and Lisa Frazier's pedigree pretty much since birth. Their impressive roots, yet down-to-earth style separate them from the average motorcycle shop.
Who's Lisa Frazier?
Lisa is the youngest daughter of Louie and Gail Gerencer. Louie is a 3-Time National AMA Pro Hillclimb Champion and owned Gerencer's Harly-Davidson of Elkhart from 1964-2006. From a young age, Lisa worked in the dealership and helped the family grow their small business into what became Indiana's largest, premier H-D dealership. Gerencer's sold the business in 2006, but Lisa has many great memories and experiences.
Who's Tim Frazier, a Boxing Legend?
Tim grew up in Lancaster, Ohio where he started riding and working on motorcycles in his youth. He was AMA District 11's 100cc Hare Scramble Champion from 1978-1980. In 1982, Tim also won Ohio's State Amateur Motocross Championship in the 125A class. That same year Tim began working for Carson Harley-Davidson/Honda in Lancaster, Ohio as a mechanic and he's never stopped turning wrenches. At the same time, Tim realized that turning throttles was going to become more than a hobby. In the middle 1980s Tim turned pro.
How Pro is Pro?
He followed his long-time mentor, 10-time AMA Pro Hillclimb Champion and AMA Hall of Famer Earl Bowlby, into professional racing. From 1988 to 1992 Tim won four AMA Pro Hillclimb Championships! He was voted Most Improved Rider in 1988, Showman of the Year in 1991 and Sportman of the Year in 1991 and 1992 by the Professional Hillclimbers Association. Tim has been interviewed and featured many times on Motoworld, Cycle News, and various other national media and still holds the AMA Professional Hillclimbing record for most consecutive wins at 17! Tim continued to race, ride and turn wrenches until 2000 when he and Lisa founded Frazier Motorsports, Inc.
Here's Why it Matters
Today, Tim and Lisa employ a sales and service staff, yet have kept the business smaller on purpose. Unlike the mega dealerships, Frazier Motorsports offers personal service and advice, attention to each customer's concerns, and lower overhead so they can give you the fairest prices for more value. Tim and Lisa run the shop together and handle service along with rider/racer advice. They still find time to enjoy cruising, trail riding, and Tim will occasionally participate in a Hare Scramble or Enduro. If you want to buy from a motorcycle and ATV shop that's run by life-long businessmen, go ahead. But if you want to shop where they live, love and breath your passion as well (riding and racing), you'll be the most comfortable at Frazier Motorsports!
